  The Civic is available with a range of i-VTEC petrol engines or an i-DTEC diesel engine. All have been engineered to deliver impressive economy, exhilarating performance and cleaner emissions. The 1.8 litre i-VTEC is like having two engines in one. Giving you the performance of a more powerful engine, but with the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine. Its acceleration is athletic, but when it comes to noise it’s one of the quietest and most refined of its type. Our already impressive 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel engine has been engineered to be quieter, smoother and deliver efficient performance.

  Our approach to lowering costs is about clever, fuel-efficient engineering. The speedometer, changes colour to tell you how efficiently you're driving, and even lets you know the optimum time to change gear. Smart thinking to help you save fuel, and save money.

  Idle Stop -
  saving money, reduces emissions.

  Idle stop*. Does exactly what it suggests: It turns off the engine when the car comes to a standstill and re-starts automatically when you press the accelerator. It's a way of increasing efficiency, lowering your emissions and saving fuel costs.

  Suspension -
  handling and practicality working together.

  When designing the Civic's suspension, our engineers wanted to achieve the perfect balance between comfort and handling. Due to the design of the Civic's innovative Magic Seats (which intelligently create more cabin space), a typical suspension system would not fit under the chassis. As we didn’t want to remove the popular Magic Seats our engineers looked for a clever solution. The answer: an innovative system that uses 'fluid-filled bushes'. This design not only allowed engineers to keep the Magic Seats, but also achieved an excellent balance between a comfortable ride and agile handling.

We’ve created a balance between great performance and comfort with our new suspension. It's unlocked higher levels of performance in our new Civic, without compromising interior space and flexibility. Come and see how persistence pays off…
